Electron Microscopy Centre
From Molecules to Cells: The Electron Microscopy Centre encompasses the UK national centre for electron microscopy of biological macromolecules and a cell biology unit.
The Electron Microscopy Centre was established by a Science Research Investment Fund in June 2007, the centre is cross-faculty and managed by the Centre of Structural Biology (CSB) in the Faculty of Natural Sciences.
The aim of the EM Centre is to provide high quality bespoke EM solutions (for Structural Biologist and Cell Biologists) for Imperial’s scientific community, and a cutting-edge technical environment with specialised support where staff and students can learn complex research skills and methodologies in EM techniques.
The EM Centre allows the visualisation of biological structures from protein macromolecules to cellular organisation and provides training, consultancy and service for internal, national and international users.
